Men’s Olympic Soccer – Egypt vs. Spain – Thursday, 3:30 a.m. ET
The men’s Olympic tournament, usually for players 23 and younger, is allowing 24-year-olds this season due to the delayed start to the Games. As such, a Spain team already loaded with young talent gets an extra boost.
Where other countries may lack experience with their young players, La Roja has it in spades: Six players just reached the Euro semis, including Dani Olmo who had a very productive tournament. Eighteen-year-old Pedri, one of Barcelona’s bright young stars, could be poised to break out in Tokyo as well.
This is all to say that Egypt is severely outmatched. The Spanish are projected to score at least two or three and are unlikely to concede, making this a seemingly easy line for them to cover.
Pick: Spain -1.5 (-150)*
